New intelligent PDU provider Enlogic was last night celebrating great success at the Data Centre Solutions awards after coming runner-up for the award for ‘Datacentre Power and Cooling Product of the Year’

New to the data centre market, Enlogic was up against stiff competition from Schneider Electric, Server Technology and Emerson with its intelligent PDU, before coming second only to Excool, which won the award judged by industry peers through a public independent vote.

Eddie Desouza, Global Marketing and Communications Director, commented on the achievement, "We are thrilled to both come runner up for the Datacentre Power and Cooling Product of the Year and to be recognised by top industry experts. This is testament to our hard work, research and development into improving data centre energy management across the globe."

The success recognises Enlogic as a leading innovator in the datacentre industry, providing the critical component in the fight against data centre energy waste through its intelligent range of energy metering Power Distribution Units (PDUs).  The team is armed with invaluable experience from extensive careers at ABB, APC, Emerson Network, Schneider Electric, the US Department of Energy and more.

Franziska Priebe, Marketing Manager of award organisers' Angel Business Communications, says "This year we have had not only a significant increase in the overall number of nominations but also in the total votes received. The DCS Awards recognise the users, manufacturers and suppliers operating in the datacentre fields and are voted for by the readers of our wide range of print and online publications. All finalists did well in making the shortlist and it was tough competition so congratulations to Enlogic on bagging the first Runner Up title in "Datacentre Power and Cooling of the Year."

Save Energy, Save Money

Energy prices are set to rise and demands on IT are increasing continuously. With the mounting pressure from governments to meet energy targets added to the equation, some would say the data centre industry is facing an energy crisis. Given this current state of affairs, no-one can afford to ignore the opportunity to cut the data centre energy bill.

Enlogic exists to draw awareness to the rack, and more specifically the PDU, to make significant energy savings, proving that small things can make a big difference. It is better to accurately measure energy consumption and proactively ensure operating efficiency, creating a new freedom to explore technologies that optimise server performance and ensure reliability by increasing the temperature in the data centre by one degree; a previously unexplored concept.

Founded in March 2011, Enlogic employs more than 70 professional staff across its global offices in the UK & Ireland, Germany, USA, Singapore, China, Australia, Netherlands, Nordics, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Collectively, Enlogic employees are responsible for 26 patent applications, 16 of those directly related to the design and progression of rack PDUs.

With Enlogic, the management team and engineers continue to prove they are the best and brightest in this industry, building upon extensive careers, having worked for blue chip employers including ABB, APC, BT, Emerson Network, Hitachi, Intel, Invensys, Nokia, Siemens, Omron, Pentair, Schneider Electric, and the US Department of Energy, among others.

Sharing their expertise, the Enlogic team aims to provide data centre IT and facilities stakeholders with enhanced knowledge to solve specific rack energy management problems.
